Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world. Its height is about 8,848 meter above sea level. Mount Everest attracts many climbers some of them are highly experienced mountaineers. There are two main climbing routes: one approaching the summit from the southeast in Nepal (known as the "standard route") and the other from the north in Tibet, China. While not posing substantial technical climbing challenges on the standard route, Everest presents dangers such as altitude sickness, weather, and wind as well as significant hazards from avalanches and the Khumbu Icefall. The mount everest was first climbed in 1953, Sir Edmund Hillary and the Tenzing Norgay who were the first two Successful Climbers. Overall, more than 600 climbers from 20 countries have climbed to the summit by various routes from both north and south. Climbers' ages have ranged from nineteen years to sixty. At least 100 people have perished, most commonly by avalanches, falls in crevasses, cold, or the effects of thin air.
